Rockridge Trader Joe’s Line Watch Project
Aside from becoming a mom to both a dog and a human, the Rockridge Trader Joes Line Watch Project was the coolest thing I accomplished during the COVID-19 pandemic. In the Spring of 2020, I built a website to live stream the very-long line at my neighborhood Trader Joe’s. It was an incredible positive outlet for my anxiety around the pandemic, and it helped hundreds of people avoid long wait times and further COVID exposure. I also used the website to raise over $8,000 for my local food bank from over 250 donors. At its peak, the website received over 500 unique visits per day. I kept the project going for over a year and received coverage in esteemed outlets such as Berkeleyside, The Wall Street Journal, and–most impressively–the Rockridge News!
